We take great pride in our greenhouse, as it is a unique addition to our farm. We have a contract with a company that supplies regional Home Depots and are exploring ways to expand its use into the off-season for produce and other plants. Vineyard at Forrest Hall Farm
Our extensive vineyard of wine grapes supplies the acclaimed Port of Leonardtown Winery, whose wines have garnered numerous awards and are steadily gaining popularity throughout Southern Maryland. We proudly believe that every great wine begins with an exceptional grape, and our vineyard is the perfect testament to this.

The Wood family has deep roots in agriculture, tracing our history back to a long line of tenant farmers before becoming proud landowners. Our property, known as Forrest Hall Farm, dates back to the 1600s as a sprawling plantation. It’s believed that Native Americans once inhabited this land, evidenced by the arrowheads uncovered in our fields during mid-20th century tilling.
For nearly 85 years, tobacco was the cornerstone of our farming legacy. The family cultivated this crop until the Maryland Tobacco Buyout in 2000, prompting us to explore new agricultural opportunities. Embracing the future, we shifted our focus to agri-tourism, introducing attractions like a corn maze, picnic area, and farm animals. This evolution led to the establishment of our farm shop, where we proudly offer fresh produce, meat, flowers, and home decor. Today, our family is committed to fostering a connection to agriculture within the rapidly changing Southern Maryland community, providing a welcoming, family-oriented venue for everyone to experience the farm firsthand—a rare treasure in today’s world.
